Founded in 1935 by Satish Ranjan Das, The Doon School was established with the vision of creating an institution that would provide an all-round education to Indian boys, combining the best of Indian and Western educational traditions.

Curriculum Structure

The Doon School follows a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations while offering flexibility for individual interests and talents. The academic program is divided into three stages:

  • Middle School (Classes 7-8): Foundational years with exposure to all subjects
  • Lower Secondary (Classes 9-10): Preparation for ICSE examinations with core subjects
  • Senior Secondary (Classes 11-12): Specialization in streams leading to ISC examinations

Each house accommodates 45-50 students with comfortable living quarters, common rooms, study areas, and recreational facilities. Houseparents and tutors provide academic support and pastoral care, ensuring each student's wellbeing.

Admissions Process

Eligibility & Criteria

Admissions are open for boys entering Class 7 (age 11+) and Class 9 (age 13+). Limited seats may be available for other classes based on vacancies.

  • Interview: Personal interview with the admissions committee
  • School Reports: Review of previous academic performance
